Boston orchestral pop band Art Decade began when singer Ben Talmi was in the 8th grade. Or rather, the seeds of what would become Art Decade first took root when Talmi formed his first band, Channel,while still in his early teens. After several EPs, Channel garnered the attention of the late LeRoi Moore of The Dave Matthews Band. By then known as Art Decade, they were invited to record their 2008?Innocence/Experience EP at Matthews’ own Haunted Hollow Studio in Charlottesville, Virginia.

When the band was ready to record their 2012 debut LP, Western Sunrise, they enlisted producer Dan Hannon, set up shop in his studio, and came away with a self-described “neo indie classical” album of symphonic pop/rock. They continue this thorough dissection of indie pop and classical music on their self-titled sophomore album, which is due out sometime in September.

With soaring vocals that reach skyward and a rhythm section that never allows the song to lose momentum, the band sets its sights on maintaining the balance between its narrative intimacy and pop self-importance. Sentimental without being over-wrought, the band reveals true feeling and revelation within the swaths of swaying strings, thudding percussion, and biting lyricism.

No Tide, the brash young pop-punk band from Nebraska might actually be the definition of prolific. In only a couple years they were able to release 3 EP’s, a split 7” and managed to tour around the US a handful of times. “We play music because we love doing what we do, it’s that simple” says singer/guitarist Will Conner. He continues, “We just want to be a band on the road, playing shows and creating music that speaks to us and anyone that wants to listen.” Their new EP entitled “Daydream” does exactly that. It speaks volumes to what No Tide has achieved in only a couple years of existence. Honest, straight-forward songwriting that lies deep in the roots of punk rock and brings to mind such bands as The Descendents, Hot Water Music or a younger Saves The Day.

Boston based Math Rock Band with more talent in each individual member than most bands combined. Featured on all three Unbuckled Records compilations and currently part of the Broken World Media Collective, I Kill Giants left an unmatchable scar on the New England Math Rock Scene, and always played with 110% energy.

Connecticut’s space pop talents Like Violet drew the attention of Unbuckled Records following a performance at the Waterfront Tavern, in Holyoke Massachusetts. Comprised of two of the Kalafus sisters (Carly & Caitlin) and guitar virtuoso Shaepes, Like Violet continue to impress new audiences with every show they play. Their debut EP was released on Unbuckled in 2013, in the form of a 7” vinyl record on limited edition Pink & Purple vinyl. The trio have gone on to release new tracks digitally while spending countless hours perfecting their craft in the studio. The time and effort has paid off and they have developed an arsenal of pop perfection while maintaining an underground appeal.

The members of Marine Electric have been friends since high school, playing music in their parents' basements and learning how to be human together. The band officially started in winter of 2007 slowly carving out their sound over the years, releasing a hand full of EPs along the way. They grew up on Long Island then relocated to Brooklyn in 2008 where they have been playing and hosting shows alongside their best friends.

Once a four piece, and now a 2 piece, White Savages drew the attention of Unbuckled Records when Dave first saw them open up for the Guru in a high school cafeteria. The performance is remembered as so raw and unfiltered, that many students ended up leaving in tears. This upset so many members of the community that they were immediately approached to be part of the Unbuckled Records family. On their last show as a band, before taking a brief hiatus, lead singer Matthew Savage was removed from stage by multiple bouncers after tearing up porno-mags and dollar bills and roasting the entire venue and music scene. He has since healed, but we remain scarred for life.

Description

Two Humans was a project started by Jason Rule and Lucas Borgstedt several years ago in a basement in wethersfield CT. It was a side project that didn't actually take its current form until about 3 years ago, when the first EP "Roman Numeral Two" was released (no longer in print). Shortly after Kevin O'Donnell came to play with the band. Playing a few shows, the band came to realize that less distance between the members was needed in order to continue performing. Not long after, Justin Dubree came to play with the band, being the main bass player for quite a few shows and tours. He was first showcased on "Eat! Dance! Stop!" (no longer in print). Not long after this, studio time was arranged at Darth Fader Recording in Wethersfield. After 2 lightning fast sessions and some editing, "Good Morning, Chemicals" was released on August 13th, 2011 at the Tetonka Fortress in Naugatuck, CT. A few months later, the "Songs For Cats" split with Fung Wah Bus was released shortly on cassette (kind of still in print). With two fresh releases under the band's belt, the shows started to add up. After a few months of live performances, the band got back in the studio to release another full length record. On January 5th, 2013, "Best Folks" was released on compact disc. The two consistent members of the band are Jason and Lucas, with Kevin returning to the band as of this year.
